This year we’ll kick off wine tastings with a seriousness suited to the quieter season of Maryland winter. Now that we have Slack wines back on the shelf, there will always be Slack wines on the menu. But wouldn’t it be fun, for the remainder of the winter wine tastings through March 17th, to add a lesson to each tasting?
And so we’ve decided to embrace winter with the enthusiasm of serious wine lovers, learning a little bit at each tasting. Maybe it will involve a comparison of sweetness in wines, or tannins or palate finishes. Or perhaps a bit about how a sommelier would know a wine is from Burgundy vs. Bordeaux, or from France vs. California or New Zealand. There will be, of course, a few blind tastings, and we do have opaque wine glasses so you can see how the serious professionals do blind tastings.
So join us each week and we’ll give a hint of the wines to be tasted beforehand.. Join our newsletter and stay up on winter wines, workshops and events at Slack Farms.
And don’t be fooled by the picture. You’re welcome to enjoy tastings indoors, too!
